SafeWave

This integrated system aims to enhance water slide safety and efficiency by combining a traffic light system with a digital announcement system. The traffic light will visually indicate when it’s safe to proceed down the slide, while the digital announcement system will reinforce safety messages and instructions.

Traffic Lights: Durable, weatherproof traffic lights with clear red and green indicators.

Sensors: Infrared sensors to detect when a rider enters and exits the slide.

System Operation

  Idle State:

The traffic light is green, indicating that the slide is clear and ready for the next rider.

The digital announcement system plays general safety reminders and instructions.

    •

Rider Entry:

A rider enters the slide, triggering the entry sensor.

The traffic light turns red, indicating that the slide is occupied.

The digital announcement system may play a specific message reminding riders to follow safety guidelines.

Rider Exit:

The rider exits the slide, triggering the exit sensor.

A brief delay (e.g., 10-15 seconds) is implemented to ensure the slide is completely clear.

The traffic light turns green again, signaling that the slide is ready for the next rider.

The digital announcement system may play a confirmation message indicating the slide is clear.

Safety Message Examples:

  • General Safety: “Please follow all posted safety signs and instructions. Do not run or dive on the slide.”

  • Rider Entry: “The slide is now occupied. Please WAIT for the green light.”

  • Rider Exit: “The slide is now clear. Please proceed to the start.”

  • Emergency Procedures: “In case of an emergency, please remain calm and follow the instructions of the lifeguard.”

Additional Considerations:

  • Customization: The system can be customized to accommodate different slide configurations and specific safety requirements.

By implementing this integrated system, water parks can significantly enhance safety and operational efficiency, providing a positive experience for all visitors.
